They play the winner of the Utah-Houston series which will be Utah more then likely
Since you know basketball better than I do, would the Lakers defeat the Jazz (in your opinion)?
The lakers would beat the Jazz.
Celtics beat up on the Hawks last night.Hopefully they dont make it interesting and have to have game 7, which is in Boston.
I hope that you're right on both accounts.
Well a tidbit I just found is the Lakers are 25-5 with Gasol in the lineup meaning against a bad interior Defense Laker fans would probably expect big things from him would probably expect big things from him in the Lineup.
Utah's big advantage over the Lakers would seem to be at the PG spot, but Williams likes to overpower other PGs (which is Fisher's strength), isn't an overwhelming shooter (which is Fisher's weakness), and while he's quick he doesn't have dominating quickness. (which is Fisher's biggest weakness) Then, you add that Fisher mentored Williams and knows his game very well. While this is an obvious matchup advantage for Utah, I think it's reigned in a bit by those factors.
Boozer struggles with "long" defenders and rebounders, such as Odom.
The one thing that Utah has going for them is the ability to throw 3 very good and very different defensive looks at Kobe. (Ak47, Brewer, Harpring) I expect Kobe to be more of a facilitator this series and to pick his spots. If they get Kobe going one on one a lot, that works out in their favor.
I expected this series to go 7 before the playoffs. It wouldn't surprise me if it went 5.
Gasol has been the core of the Lakers' success.

I saw some questionable officiating last night.
Paul Pierce has to stop getting Technicals.
boston needs to stop getting so frustrated. this was one of kg's problems when he was with MN and now with pierce taking techs, its showing other teams in the east what boston's key flaw is.
just cause they had an easy regular season didn't mean everyone was going to just let them pass in the playoffs. they need to calm down and breathe.
They can't blow the series in Game Seven.
Boston thought that they would get a, "free-ride."
Now why would a Lakers fan of all people say that. Thats just plain bizarrre
But anyway I wouldn't be too worried about the Jazz series. If gasol and Odom can man up on the Defensive boards the Lakers should advance without too many problems. It's ok seeing Boozer getting 14 boards but Okur with 19. No boxing out whatsoever.
On the plus side Kobe was superb and the team defense was incredible. If they play defense like that throughout the remainder of the playoffs, I think LA brings home the title.
I was secretly pledging allegiance to the Celtics during this series. I'd root for anybody against the Hawks!
I hope that you're right. What are the odds?
Pretty good it's looking like. I honestly don't know the actual betting odds if thats what you mean.
I can honestly see the end of the road for the Spurs. Duncan is guardable in a way he hasn't been for years, their defense has been plus solid their effectiveness on offense is making the Spurs pass up open shots and hesitate on getting behind. If they did beat the Spurs it would be a seven game series with the Lakers
